Telangana Government Launches New Polytechnics in Kesamudram and Patancheru for 2025–26
Telangana Expands Access to Technical Education
Telangana’s government is significantly expanding technical education by introducing two new government polytechnic colleges for the academic year 2025–26. Located in Kesamudram (Mahabubabad district) and Patancheru (Sangareddy district), these additions increase the state’s total number of government polytechnics to 59, with a combined intake of approximately 14,280 students.
First-Ever General Residential Polytechnic in Telangana
The Kesamudram polytechnic is Telangana’s first government-run general residential polytechnic, providing co-educational access to students of all social groups. With a government investment of nearly ₹70.55 crore, the institution will feature modern academic blocks and separate hostels for boys and girls. Until now, residential polytechnics in the state were reserved for specific communities.
The Patancheru polytechnic, located in a major industrial corridor, is expected to bridge the gap in technical education availability around Hyderabad and Sangareddy, offering industry-relevant programs to local students.
Location Highlights
Kesamudram (Mahabubabad District)
Kesamudram is a semi-urban town about 45 km from Warangal. Known for its agricultural economy and market access, the town will benefit from enhanced educational infrastructure, especially for rural and underprivileged students.
Patancheru (Sangareddy District)
Patancheru is a prominent industrial hub in Telangana, home to numerous pharmaceutical and electronics companies. Situated about 32 km from Hyderabad, the area is ideal for hands-on industrial training and potential job placements for polytechnic students.
